Ruth Thompson of Sylvan Skills (www.sylvanskills.co.uk) at Curwen Hall wearing a kirtle made by Rent A Peasant. The pattern was bought in Copenhagen National Museum and is based on a surviving medieval garment excavated in the cemetery at Herjolfsness, Greenland. Following medieval non monetary exchange systems, the garment was bartered for some willow hurdles, which Ruth can be seen making
